Shirt dresses

For Cait's birthday, I decided to glam up some summer onesies.

The project was pretty simple and I spent under $15 for everything-pretty good huh?!

I purchased 3/8 of a yard of each coordinating fabric. I had to cut off about 6 inches of it but I used the leftover to make matching hair bows. Tutorial found here. The only thing I did differently was I always put my flowers onto hair clips so that they can be clipped to a head band and when Cait is bigger she can use them in her hair as well.

I ironed the hemline, then sewed it. Next I took to needle and thread to get the gathered look prior to sewing the fabric onto the onesie I sewed about 1/2 a part and them gathered it.

Finally I pinned the skirt to the onesie and after sewing around it and doing all of this 4 more times--waallla.

I love how they turned out and can't wait for her to wear them so with that said, I am wishing that it were spring!

Tiffani, those are awesome!!! I'm definitely going to make some when I have a little girl (which could be soon, who knows!).

Love these! Great idea! Where do you get your fabric? I can never find cute fabric like that.

Oh my, these are so cute!! Now if my girls could still wear onesies, I'd be in business. Could you do the same with tank tops? I love them!

Found the fabric at Joann's, the bonus was that it was on sale! Beverly's also has good fabric but it is more pricey. You could totally rock these with tank tops, good idea!
