Love the Little Things

Less than an hour after our arrival home and less than 24 hours after her birth Andrew's cousin Lindsey and family came over to check Caitlin out and brought with her her camera. As always, she did a great job of capturing the new addition.

I took this one of Carson and Caitlin. Carson is super sweet and just wants to love her and kisses her often. Plus he is always asking to hold her hand...melts my heart. I hope they will always be the best of friends.

Caitlin Mae Morgan

Caitlin was born February 21, 2010 at 8:04 pm. She weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. She is precious!

I was induced earlier that morning, with Pitocin started at 11 am and things progressed rather slowly...I am not patient and was kind of bored but enjoyed the resting while I could. They checked me at 7:00 pm and I was only dilated to a 4 but contractions were strong and really close together--I was feeling the pain! The pain got worse and I remember telling Andrew, "I don't think I can do this" minutes before announcing that I needed to push at 8:00 pm...the staff thought I was joking because they had just sent everyone to lunch...until they checked and sure enough she/I was ready! At that point it all happened so fast. The hospital staff was scurrying to get everything in place and less than four minutes after feeling the "urge" she was here!

Because the doctors were initially worried about her size I didn't get to hold her for almost an hour while they assessed and Andrew help bath her. She is healthy and a great eater so far.

My first time holding her.

Compared with labor with Carson this time was much better and once things got going super fast. Last time I pushed non-stop for almost two hours and was swollen, puffy and worn out. On our way home yesterday Andrew commented on how much better I look than last time, I am glad he noticed!

Carson is enjoying having a little sister. When he came to the hospital the next morning to see her for the first time he was given a present from Caitlin, a play-doh set with which he played with most of his visit there and all day at home as well-with the gift he was won over. He has also been a good helper only needing a few reminders of gentleness when he tries to honk her nose and pry open her eyes to "hake up!" and several "please don't jump on the bed near her head"

Father and daughter, I love it.

We are in love and definitely have our hands full now!

We will post more picture soon...yes we are like the paparazzi!
