Book Worm

Those of you who know me know that it is no secret that I have a love for books. I am one of those people who need a license plate holder that says, "I'd rather be reading" because most of the time this is true. The other night as Carson was getting ready for bed I left him in the rocking chair for a minute ( I know, how could I leave him unattended, what a bad mom-whatever) to grab the phone.
When I came back Carson was flipping through some book on his own. I was so proud and I am hoping to instill a love for reading early on and it looks like it just might be working!

First off...we've ALL left kids unattended for a minute! Second---I love when kids pick up on the love of books! TJ is the same way! Carson is getting so big! He's so adorable!

How cute is that? Erika is obsessed with reading her books too and will pull them all out of her bookshelf and lay on the ground and read them all. Its hard to get mad at them for making a mess when they are doing something like that!

that's so cute! We've been reading every night with our kids since our first was about Carson's age. Our kids LOVE books now, I'm so glad we made it a priority to read to them! I'm sure Carson will be a bookworm just like you!

I love to read too and joke that I turn into such a horrible mom when I do because I can't stop till I'm done! The ultimate goal is to teach your kids to love to read so everyone can read their own book at the same time!

Carson is so cute. He'll learn to love reading by just watching you! Why did I get hungry when I read your blog?? Those oatmeal chocolates are to die for! (Actually, they probably cause death via heart attack). Good luck on the half marathon!

Carson looks like a little model lounging back in that last picture. He's so cute - but of course you already know that.

You guys know the Hardys too? Brandon and Jim went to high school together and I think they were in the same ward. So, not TECHNICALLY aunt and uncle to our kids, but we adopted each other.

Hi Tiffani. Thank you for the words of encouragement. I know I can do it - I just don't always know if I can do it without going crazy!

I'm a huge reader, too. And all of my kids are readers, also. I think it's, in part, because they see me reading so often that they decided very young that it must be pretty fun if I'm always doing it.

It was fun to see you guys again tonight, even though I never really talk much to you guys when we are at opposite ends of the table and I'm chasing my munchkin (good call on having Grandma babysit!). Anyway, so I thought I'd check your blog out again and say hey...Carson is adorable! I love his little cheeks! :)
I, too, love to read. I'm sure being the book worm you are, you have read the Twilight Series. That's one of my favorite reads, and re reads...and re re reads...haha. Right now I am reading a book called, "Eat, Pray, Love". It's pretty good. It's an Oprah Club Book...she usually has good picks.
Anyway, fun to see you again. Let's keep in touch blogging! :)
Good luck again, on your race!
