Feeding Fiasco

Our little angel has turned monster whenever we try to feed him these last couple of days. Making my worst nightmare a reality with food being flung everywhere. It's in his hair, up his arms, it's also covering me, sticking to every visible spot on his high chair, splattered on the floor, oh and I can't forget it has also made it's way to the wall-aargh! We are having a major power struggle. Is it it asking too much to want him to eat a balanced diet? I know that he is wanting his independence but the only foods besides table scrapes that he can feed himself are crackers, toast, cheerios.
What healthy finger foods do your little ones eat?On the bright side, his little messes make for some bubbly fun later...maybe there is reason behind his madness.

What a handsome little funny guy! Jameson is fed up with baby food also. A few things I give him are: green beans (just boil a can real fast/super easy/a little more healthy ;) he loves those, or cook a bunch of other veggies such as carrots, and peas and pull them out as needed. Also, I buy eggos and I will cook one of those and let him chow on that for breakfast along with little hunks of banana (and if he is teething, frozen eggos are PERFECT!!!) Little mandarin oranges are good, just cut the slices up really well, and obviously not too many because they're so acidic(sp?haha). And he loves yogurt, I know the texture is similar to baby food, but for some reason he prefers that! And of course he loves all the yummy table scraps like rice, bits of chicken, etc!! This is a hard phase though, because they aren't interested as much in baby food, but, you feel like you can't really fill them up on table scraps! hopefully those were a couple helpful ideas! (wow that was long haha...sorry :)

I love that last picture of him...He is such a cutie!! Good look with the food thing! Erika went through a stage where she would make a huge mess out of the entire kitchen but she got over it pretty quickly so hopefully it will pass soon!

That is about what Caelan ate at that age. Don't worry it will change. Just hang in there.

Super Cute Pictures!!! I saw your blog about your wool rug... We have a shag rug also and it does the same thing. We take a push broom and sweep through it at least twice a week. We used to have a clump the the size of a small dog but it's getting better now. The only problem that I am having now is keeping it clean from people's shoes.

I wish I could tell you it is just a phase...but once little boys get an ounce of independence they take off and run with it. He will have moments of being a good eater, then he'll have days of crazy food throwing happiness (sarcasm).

Good Luck - enjoy these messy moments - they don't last forever and he is growing up quick!

That's about what Bryson eats, but it looks like you have a bunch of other fun ideas to try too.
