Dallas

When Andrew and I were dating (on the way to a symphony no less-one and only let me tell you; we are not that cultured!) I mentioned to him that I wanted to name my future kids Dallas and Madison...his response was "you mean salad?" I was so confused, apparatus Dallas spelled backward is sallad-who knew?! The reason I bring this up is because Carson says he will eat salad, "when I'm a Dad." We have been trying to convince him through peer pressure {Carson and Ava both love salad} that salads not that bad. He finally agreed to try it.

Do you think he enjoyed it-not one bit. But he put on a fake polite grin and managed it down. No salad or Dallas for us anytime soon!

Sacramento Zoo

Last Monday (Cait's birthday) the sun was shining bright and we didn't have any plans so we headed to the zoo. Now, let's not let us confuse the term zoo with staying at home because sometimes that feels zanier than the real deal.

I had not been to the Sacramento Zoo since I was a kid and was sad that they no longer had a hippo {I guess he was my favorite if I even remember there being a hippo}. Carson loved looking at the map and asking what we were going to see next.

I have to admit, I will keep going to the Folsom Zoo for a couple reasons; 1. the price is more reasonable and I think their variety of animals is pretty good 2. their train is WAY better!

When I grow up...

Carson has been making BIG plans regarding his future. Almost everywhere we go and anything we see's that he wants the sentence starts like this, "when I grow up" or "when I'm a Dad." Because he has these comments so frequently {it's borderline ridiculous} I thought it would be fun to keep track of what he thinks he wants.

When I grow up...

I want to be a firefighter and a doctor, a rock star and a Dad

I want a BIG truck to drive in the snow with...and a car
I want three kids and three car seats and their names will be Sally and Nick...I guess his wife gets to name one of them!
I want to be your neighbor
I want a lawn mower
I want a BBQ
I want a gun and a knife
I want a house; will you come visit me?

Now that I am writing this I can't remember all the rest but knowing him, there will be more!

Because of his firefighting ambition, Scott offered to let us come by his fire station. Carson was ecstatic...until we got there and saw the fire engines and trucks. Looking back he was probably intimidated by the sheer size of the engines and the new surroundings. I mean the tires alone where just as tall as he was!

When we left he couldn't stop talking about his experience. His favorite things included: the ax, 3 fridges, the hose and Scott. Scott, thanks for sharing your work with us!
