Injection 101

Today Carson and I both received our flu shots. I wasn't worried about Carson's reaction because we had talked about a couple of times so he knew what to expect. He watched as I got mine and then he sat on my lap and I held his arms. When he was finished, he got a sticker and a lollipop. He was so brave and took it like a champ! He was so proud of himself. He kept saying, "knee, shot " Although in reality they gave him the shot in his vastus lasteralus (aka his thigh) he would still point to his knee. After dinner we were playing and he was pretending to administer shots to his stuffed bears. At first he would place the bears on his lap to administer the injection.

Then he would have me hold either the bear or as he likes to call it the baby bear while he gave them a shot. After awhile he said, "your turn." So he held the bear while I administered the shot...(pictured above) too cute. I love that kid!

Who Knew?

When we were young, we were the best of friends.
Sorry the picture has damage but it was a fun one so I used it anyways.

In the picture I was 14 about to start high school and she was 15 anxiously awaiting getting her driving permit. Back in the day we would share secrets, speak in English accents just for the fun of it and daydream for hours trying to plan our futures complete with lists of qualities of potential husbands, baby name lists and careers. We would even stuff basketballs under our shirts to see what we would look like pregnant!

Fast forward many years through high school, a few "scrubs," college, both of our weddings and a kid for me two weeks before her wedding.

Today we are both pregnant and due within four weeks of each other and she just found out that she is having a GIRL too!
I couldn't be happier for her.

Announcement!

Ever since we announced the pregnancy I have been anxiously awaiting our ultrasound appointment and it was this afternoon. Like a good patient I drank the ordered 3 glasses of water plus some orange juice in hopes of an active baby however, the baby was in the same position almost the entire time, head down with back up, all curled up. The technician even had me take a walk-so I ran the stairs for 5 minutes. The technician said that she is more than 90% sure of her conclusion.

Here are a few pictures, the baby is sure flexible! Carson was positioned the same way in the womb with feet over head. The baby is measuring a little small for my due date with the exception of the head--lucky me!

We are thrilled to announce that...

52% of you were right! To be honest, I am still pinching myself. It is hard to believe that we are having a girl because the Morgan genes have been predominantly male so I never even wanted to think of having a girl so I wouldn't get my hopes up but we couldn't be happier and the pressures off next time! I can't wait to buy some girl things and might even go tonight!

Carson's going to do great because he is already such a ladies man...I mean the neighbor girls flock to him. To think that he and "the girl" will be in high school together is pretty cool but Andrew brought up the fact that Carson's friends will most likely have crushes on her so we are being proactive and having Carson practice, "step-off" he's already got it down!

I can't wait until she comes, I am so happy!
