Communication Conundrum

Marriage depends on many things to be successful. Trust. Love. Communication. Time. Friendship. Understanding. Loyalty. These are just a few of the main things that a marriage need to thrive.

Usually when husbands and wives spend time together they have a chance to talk/communicate. Many know that Andrew and I are around each other almost 24/7 because we a lucky enough for him to work at home. However, in our case, "time together" doesn't always=great communication.

For example, this afternoon amidst Carson having a play date, Andrew was in the kitchen fixing something to eat and I was in the playroom...not that far from the kitchen; when Andrew initiated a conversation that went like this:

"Emma is no longer the top baby name."

Interested I replied, "Really?"

He said, "Guess what is?"

My response, "Guitar Hero?"

He laughed then said, "What did you think I said?"

Me, " Didn't you say Halo is no longer the top video game?"

It's a good thing it wasn't something important.

Injection 101

Today Carson and I both received our flu shots. I wasn't worried about Carson's reaction because we had talked about a couple of times so he knew what to expect. He watched as I got mine and then he sat on my lap and I held his arms. When he was finished, he got a sticker and a lollipop. He was so brave and took it like a champ! He was so proud of himself. He kept saying, "knee, shot " Although in reality they gave him the shot in his vastus lasteralus (aka his thigh) he would still point to his knee. After dinner we were playing and he was pretending to administer shots to his stuffed bears. At first he would place the bears on his lap to administer the injection.

Then he would have me hold either the bear or as he likes to call it the baby bear while he gave them a shot. After awhile he said, "your turn." So he held the bear while I administered the shot...(pictured above) too cute. I love that kid!

From Left Field

I went shopping today and came home and showed Andrew my three items. One of them being a swim suit. No, I am not planning a trip, I just really liked it. I wasn't going to try it on because it is really cold but I did and went to the office to show Andrew.

Me: "This is it! I really like it. They had it in yellow and beige, I couldn't decide"

Him: "It's a one piece?"

Me: isn't that obvious?

Him: "It's tight." Not tight as in cool but tight as in ?-disapproving?

Me: "That' s all you can say?"

Him: "I guess I haven't seen a swimsuit in awhile"

What?? Not what I was expecting...at all. I think he should get out of the house more often.
