A couple weeks ago, late in the afternoon Andrew caught us all reading! The kids were being good so I slipped into the other room to finish The Glass Castle which I would highly recommend. I love books and I am so glad that my kids do too! We head to the library once a week and come home with a back breaking back of books that I have to make sure I keep track of!

Six Flags
We went to Six Flags and had the greatest time! We were hesitant to even go because Carson has been going through a "high maintenance" stage in that he screams at the top of his lungs if he is in the car for more than 30-40 minutes, and once we get somewhere he has been super clingy and whiny, but with that said, he was much better than I expected and was an angel all day. The first thing we did was see the sea otter show that was entertaining but the jokes about Paris Hilton and Britney Spears sprinkled throughout were a little awkward.
Apparently it made a big impression on Andrew because he tried to ride Shouka!
I think this daycation was Carson's favorite so far. He got to go on his very first "roller coaster" that didn't look too scary but was like the Tea Cups on caffeine...he loved it! He rode on a choo-choo (he'll even make the accompanying hand movements),
went on his first merry-go-round and when it would stop going up and down he would "giffy up" to try to make it move.
We sat so close that Carson got to pet Alice the elephant.
At the Butterfly Pavilion Carson was mesmerized.

He almost touched a butterfly. There was so much to look at in fact that he wouldn't hold still for a photo op.

The Coi swarmed to him wherever he went, I am assuming that they liked his bright colors.
I think the best part of the day was when Andrew got to meet the "real" Super Woman. Besides her looks, she doesn't have anything on me.

I Scream, you scream...
Carson and I were playing inside when we heard the ice cream truck on our street. The truck is on our street practically everyday and so far I had not been tempted to run outside but it was hot today, so I ran and got the change jar and chased the truck down, making him do a u-turn in the middle of the street.
I was so excited because I hadn't gotten anything from an ice cream truck since I was little when my grandpa would let us pick anything we wanted, thanks grandpa. The Mr. Cream was very nice, but then again I'm sure he wants our business next time we hear the familiar song.
Thinking that Carson wouldn't eat very much, I bought one to share.

(Yes, he is WALKING!!)
Carson thoroughly enjoyed this cool treat, eating all of it by himself until it melted off the stick.

Loon Lake Chalet
California State Fair
We went to the California State Fair to see the All-American Rejects. Even though it was 102 degrees outside at the hottest part of the day, we sweated it out and had a riot! A security guard was even nice enough to give us ear plugs for Carson--it's a good thing 'cause the music was blasting!

Independance Day
Carson celebrated his one month birthday on the 4th, he is getting so big! He was awake for the BBQ but amazingly slept right through all of the loud fireworks.
