Sugar & Spice

In preparation for Mother's Day (my mom's coming over for breakfast), the kids and I made Cinnamon rolls! I only make cinnamon rolls like once a year, usually Christmas so this will be a special treat.

Sure it made the job a little more messy having them help but not too bad. They were both great helpers and were so into it!

Looking at these pictures makes me realize how quickly they grow because I remember Carson the pirate apron that I made that he is still wearing used to drown him just as Caitlin's does now. I am so grateful that I am a mother and that I get to spend my days with these two cutie pies...I think it's funny that Cait has flour on her nose!

These are going to be gooood!

Over the Weekend

What a fun filled weekend we had. Random info, but if you live near us and are looking for a great Chinese place, go to Lincoln Chinese...it's the best!

Saturday we honored Robin by having her Bridal Shower. It was a perfect afternoon. We had lunch out on our in-laws deck...the weather was perfect and we had great company. So happy for Robin so be joining our family!

so pretty...robin too!

Then Sunday of course was Mother's Day! Carson was so cute wishing me mother's day and then saying, "that makes mom happy!" After (early) church we came home Andrew made lunch which really only happens once a year and it's something that I especially appreciate because it is so out of his element and something he does just for me. Post-lunch, I even got a nap! It was a good day.

I am so glad that I am a mother, it is the busiest, selfless job but there is really nothing else I wold rather be doing! I am lucky to have two healthy and happy kids, I love them!

Carson with Mimi and Gigi...I think the guy in the middle is so handsome!!

Loving this qoute on my fridge:

" A mother has far greater influence on her children than anyone else, and she must realize that every act, every response, her attitude, even her manner appearance and manner of dress affect the lives of her children. It is while the child is in the home that he gains from his mother the contribution he will make to society."

...no pressure right?!

A Mother Loves

A Mother loves right from the start.
She holds her baby close to her heart.
The bond that grows will never falter.
Her love is so strong it will never alter.

A Mother gives never ending love.
She never feels that she has given enough.
For you she will always do her best.
Constantly working, there's no time to rest.

A Mother is there when things go wrong.
A hug and a kiss to help us along.
Always there when we need her near.
Gently wipes our eyes when we shed a tear.

So on this day shower your Mother with Love.
Gifts and presents are nice but that is not enough.
Give your Mother a day to have some peace of mind.
Be gentle, be good, be helpful, be kind.
