Look who's one!

Caitlin is a great addition to our family and I can't imagine our family without her {I guess that's not 100% true because it would be quite a bit quieter :] } This year has been an eventful one and I am kind of sad that it has gone by so quickly.

Despite the cold weather, I took her pictures Saturday and the cold helped us keep the photo session short!

Cait is a happy girl who loves to burrow into her blanket, wave hi and bye, "re-organize the cupboards"=everything on the ground several times a day. She babbles and says: more (signs and says), mama, dada, Uuh (up), and she loves to clap.



She is good at giving slobbery kisses, drinking from her sippy cup all by herself, and crawling as fast as she can. We honestly thought she would be walking by now but she's not interested, probably because she is such a proficient crawler and that's ok with us.

She loves to eat anything she can get her hands on! Her favorites being bananas, freeze dried yogurt bites, black beans, our cold cereal, and any type of snack cracker. If she has finished and wants more we get to hear a velociraptor roar from her.

She is determined, has quite the personality and we love her.



We celebrated with a family dinner yesterday. We are so fortunate to live so close to our family!

She lite up when we were all singing to her and ate her cake very lady like.

Happy 1st Birthday Cait!

One year older...

Happy Birthday Andrew! Another year has come and gone and on Sunday, Andrew celebrated his 29th Birthday (gasp! he doesn't look that old, does he?). Unfortunately, we spent the entire special day driving home from a short trip to Utah-sad huh? Before we left though I did make him his favorite breakfast of french toast with a dippy egg. I have been so busy and as a result he has been neglected big time so he really appreciated all of the birthday wishes he received.

We went to Utah for Andrew's cousin Bryce's wedding. The last time we were in Utah we drove this pink beauty which would shake when accelerated past 70 mph. Too funny!

Bryce and Meggan were sealed in the Timpanogos Temple by Joseph Fielding McConkie (Bruce R. McConkie's son) and it was the best sealing that I had ever witnessed, even the grandparent agreed.

While waiting for pictures to be taken, Carson had the time of his life going round and round this circle. He would even say, "round and round" and then just laugh! He also enjoyed saying "Hi!" to all of the other kids who were always surprised that he said anything at all. We were able to stay in Midway at Andrew's grandparents home. We had never been to this house, so when we first got there we were all looking around and Carson said, "wooow" and later pointed and said "clock." He has amazed us lately by all of the things he can say. He is getting to be a great communicator. Our short trip was a much needed getaway with pretty morning views that Carson got to enjoy the morning we left. He slept like a log every night and had just woken up to admire the horses. I don't think you can tell in this picture but there is a horse in the field behind us.


Besides the wedding, we maximized our time in Utah by visiting our friend Drew who just finished his fourth round of chemo, my Grandparents in Salt Lake and we also stopped by the Provo Home Depot to see some of Andrew's old friends. We had a great time and Carson was as good as to be expected considering he was stuck in the car for mre than 25 hours in a three day period. I sure it was hard for him considering all he really wants to do is run amuck and explore. Thank goodness for portable DVD players, oh how I love technology!

Andrew, thanks for being Mr. Mom lately. You really are the best husband, father and friend.

Sweet Sixteen

My sister Sabrina is 16 today! We are 10 years apart but it feels like yesterday that I was in her shoes, man time flies.

I loved when you and Parker came to visit us Utards and celebrate your 12th birthday with us. Since then, I have enjoyed watching you become a young woman.

Being her sister is so much fun! She is into everything girly and I love to hear about her crushes, oh to be young again.

We are goofy and scary looking and it doesn't even matter.

Birthday Party!

Last Saturday we officially celebrated Carson's birthday by having our families come over for lunch. I had made chicken, pasta salad, corn on the cob, a variety of fruit and sweet treats for everyone. We stuffed our faces and had a great time. Andrew's cousin Lindsey was nice enough to take pictures for me at Carson's party so that is why there has been a posting delay, thank you for your patience.

Carson didn't eat as much of his cake like I was expecting, but he did get the frosting all over his hands and face so the pictures turned out good. It was funny to see him (or Tanner actually) open his presents. Carson was extremely opinionated about certain ones that he didn't want other people to touch or take away from him. After the presents were opened he went outside and played T-ball with Uncle Dave and Dad while the elves got busy assembling his other toys.

I would like to thank all of the family that was there to celebrate with us, it wouldn't have been a party without you. We are so glad that we live close and get to share these happy occasions with you.

Happy Birthday Carson!

Ever since we laid eyes on you, we have been filled with awe and love. We have enjoyed seeing you grow and experience the world around you.

Hopefully every year doesn't go by as quickly as this one seemed to.

To our boy, that's not quite so little anymore, we love you.

Some things that he likes to do include:

watching Sesame Street

helping me clean

water "sports"
(I promise he doesn't normally hang out in his diaper but he was having so much fun so I took his clothes off and let him have at it!)

exploring the great outdoors

drummer boy, rocking out with Dad...but seriously if he isn't able to play he totally freaks out.
Another thing that he does is when he hears music he will either start tapping something or he rocks his body to the beat, it is pretty cute.

He is still working on his balance but that doesn't stop him from getting into everything.

Birthday Fun

I can hardly believe that another year has come and gone and that I am now 25! With our families living in town we usually get a three day celebration (mine, his and one of our own) which is fine with me. My family came over on Saturday to celebrate and on Sunday we went to the Morgan's.

Yesterday, I received so many phone calls and e-mails wishing me a happy day, thank you for remembering! Chelsie, my oldest friend (of 14 years) didn't have to teach, so she brought me lunch and we went to the park with Carson. It was fun to catch up and have some fun in the sun.

Later that night we went bowling with a group of friends. Whenever Andrew and I can't think of anything to do, I always suggest bowling but according to Andrew that is classified as a group activity. I didn't want to do the usual birthday dinner so I called some friends. Little did I know that they had mad bowling skills, some bringing their own bowling shoes and ball!

I was impressed by the two pregnant women of the group (Catherine and Liz) who brought their "A" games and showed us how to get high scores by any means necessary.

Just the two of us. It was so nice to have a night out! Andrew and I were sore losers, he even let me beat him...

The guys as expected kicked our butts. Both Mark and Eric had taken a bowling class and Eric is in a league so was able to give us a few pointers.

Easter Weekend

We had an eventful weekend. All of Andrew's Dad's side of the family was in town to celebrate Grandpa Bob's 80th Birthday. Pictured above is Andrew's Dad Chris, with his immediate family. His Grandparents are amazing! They are so sharp and on their game. They do crossword puzzles daily, golf and even go on annual ski trips with friends. If I am half as "with it" when I am 80 I'll be a happy girl.

Andrew's Grandpa Bob has a picture of him and all of his boys balancing on his hand, like the picture above. So we were excited that Andrew was able to do it with Carson to keep the tradition running.

As Easter was approaching I had no idea what I was going to put in Carson's Easter basket. I finally decided to get him an Easter outfit, a pair of maracas because he likes music so much, and a sand sifter for the beach. Easter morning Carson got to see his Easter basket and he love the maracas and got good use out of the sand sifter(see next post). Holidays are so much more fun with him around!

Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban Concert!

Wednesday morning I got a call from my friend Leslie asking if I would like to go to see Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban that night because her husband who was planning on going with her (and had given her the tickets as a b-day present) was sick, bummer. So after finding a sub for Bunco that night (thanks Liz) and clearing babysitting with Andrew, I was so excited and looked forward to that evening all day!

Carrie Underwood performed first and it was nice to see her in concert after watching her on American Idol. Initially, I was mostly interested in see Carrie, and I must say that Keith is an awesome performer!

He threw THE BEST show! Not only is he a great singer he is a talented musician, throughout the show he would do guitar solos that make Andrew playing Guitar Hero on Hard look like a piece of cake. He was incredible. At one point he was looking out into the aidence and a fan had a sign that read: "Gas to Arco Arena: $50, Concert Tickets: $200, and kiss from Keith: priceless." Well, he said, "I'm married, but would you settle for a hug?" and then he brought this girl onto the stage with him.

Towards the end of the show, he and Carrie performed together. He also went and sang in the crowd, then gave away a signed guitar to a random fan. I obviously don't know him, but he seemed like a nice, mellow guy. For now, I am a huge fan and I would definitely be interested in seeing him again in concert.
