I am reluctant to advertise my ambitions to run a 1/2 Marathon, but I figured the more support and reminders I had the more likely I am to succeed at this lofty goal of mine. The American River Parkway Race is on May 3rd. If anyone is interested in training, the more the merrier. Today was Day 1 of training and I am feeling good and extremely nervous because I have never ran this far before....wish me luck (I'm going to need it!).
For those of you who have training and race experience, tips are welcome.

I with you lady! I ran my 3 miles today and plan to stick to the training schedule. Maybe I should start with a 10k or something, 1/2 marathon is a big jump for me but I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the push, I needed that!
Good luck, Tiffani! You will do great!
You will do awesome! If I didn't hate running so much, I'd do it with you!
Good luck to you my dear. I would love to train, but I am way far behind on my training, and I think I am due that day. That makes it a little bit harder.
You will do great! You have been running for a long time, that it will be easy for you. I never ran and trained and ran a half. I am training the triple crown, which is a 5K, 10K, and then a 10 miler. There is a mini a month later, but costs $50 so I am not doing that. But i would love to run with you once we move back (whenever that will be.)My advice to you is run further than 8 miles before you do the mini. I was dead at 10 miles, but did it. And you are in better shape then me, so I think that you will do great! Good Luck!!!
My advice to you would be...don't trip. You're an inspiration to us all.
You are awesome! I'm so happy to hear you are training too. Good luck & if you ever want to go out in joggers with the babes just let me know:)
Rose: You were the motivation that I needed and I'll take you up on running with the kiddos when the weather improves.
